Honour the Autumn Equinox with a Yin practice and circle
Join Grace to honour the shifting seasons and nourish your Yin energy which is ramping up as we wane off Late Summer and Yang energy.
In TCM, Autumn is related to your metal element which governs your lungs & large intestine.
We will indulge in a 70 minute practice targeting your lungs & large intestine meridian channels, before gathering in circle around an altar adorned with seasonal offerings.
We will have a natter and journal on a few questions of self-inquiry connected to the metal element which has themes of strength, wisdom, letting go and grief.
This class aligns just after the new moon partial solar eclipse (21st September), so is a good time to clear anything left lingering from the eclipse portal.
Let’s make some energetic space to welcome new beginnings!
This class is ideal for anyone looking to slow down, soothe their nervous system, harmonise their energy flow, or explore their inner landscape & elemental nature.
Yin
Yin is a slow-paced, inward practice that aims to penetrate and nourish the deep Yin tissues (tendons & ligaments & fascia)
By holding poses on the floor, supported by blocks, bolsters & blankets for around 3-5 minutes, and following each pose with a rebound (lying down) - fluid is released hydrating connective tissues, improving flexibility, freedom & support.
There will be moments of inner-enquiry and moments of spaciousness, so you can really connect with what’s alive (or in fact dying) for you.
It’s your practice, so if you choose to lie in rebound the entire time then go for it!
The circle
Please bring a pen and paper so we can use this time to reflect on a few journal prompts.
You’re welcome to take this home and burn it under the moon as part of an Autumn Equinox ritual.
We will have a natter, enjoy the goodies and the offerings, before closing with intention.
Please note
We will have to modify your practice if you are hyper mobile or pregnant (at any stage), so please let Grace know in advance.
This class is completely beginner friendly, nothing is expected of you.
