Beltane takes place on 1 May, exactly half way between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. The word comes from Old Irish meaning ‘bright fire’ and marks the transition between spring and summer. It is a celebration of the fertility and rampant potency of life force and was traditionally the time for handfasting, when couples would express their commitment to each other. This is a time of enthusiasm, reverence for all life, joy, vigorous growth, love, fertility, harmony and the fire of creation – this is a powerful time for union and for bringing dreams into reality; creating a new and greater aligned world in the process.
Join Emma to celebrate the life and fertility of the green land and the life force and creative potential in each of us. Together we’ll practice various breathing techniques (pranayama) and postures (asana) and enjoy a relaxation too. Emma will be guided by the energy of the Beltane and the group at that time. It’s hoped that you will be able to discover more about yourself and where to place your energy – what are you trying to create?
