Yoga to celebrate Imbolc, the cross quarter festival of light

Imbolc marks the beginning of the lambing season and signals the very beginning of Spring and the stirrings of new life. The original word Imbolg means 'in the belly'. All is pregnant and expectant - and only just visible if at all, like the gentle curve of a 'just-showing' pregnancy. It is the promise of renewal, of hidden potential, of earth awakening and life-force stirring. Here is hope. We welcome the growth of the returning light and witness Life's insatiable appetite for rebirth.

Come and join me for an awakening and light fuelled yoga class on this potent day when the energy is full of potential and new beginnings, like the spark that gives rise to the inhalation.

With candles glowing, this seasonal yoga practice will combine an active asana (posture) class with breathing exercises (pranayama) and Imbolc meditation questions. The combination will provide a great way of getting more in touch with your inner wisdom and finding out how best to harness and direct your energy during the coming growing season.

Where: St Martin's Community Centre downstairs
