Phew!
Phew, what a relief that the eclipse has now passed. I know I am not alone in finding that quite an intense two weeks of letting go.
The powers that be were making it very clear of old patterns and false hopes and broken dreams, of all that is no longer serving us, the old stories and self-depreciating patterns and beliefs.
The full moon itself was a potent one, and with the rain, the earth was positively shining. I love a full moon, it aways makes me feel so energised and I was delighted to prepare with some of you in Creux dolmen, with my crystal singing bowls and my stone friend’s amazing gong - I felt the earth vibrate up into the dolmen.
I was there again on full moon itself. The moon is rising increasingly towards the north now as sun rise moves south.
Since late May I have been paying attention to sunrise. I was wired to it all of June and July, waking naturally just in time and poking my head out of the roof light in my bedroom, and witnessing its movement across the sky. It’s now rising behind our neighbour’s house, so I have lost my visual, but I’m usually in the garden hanging out the washing as it pokes up through the trees in the gap between our houses.
It amazes me how quickly the sun moves along the horizon, and we’ll be increasingly losing light now as we head towards the Equinox on 23 September.
There’s no doubt that the sun is waning in intensity too, and the seasonal shift is upon us, I’ve watched the lesser burdock in Saints Valley live most of its life cycle, dying back now, and I’ve collected the last of the elderberries, so the fridge is now stocked with elderberry syrup to help ease cold symptoms and support the healing process. The blackberries are spoiling and the leaves are falling.
I don’t know if I’m ready for this descent into the darker months ahead, but I am enjoying a quieter island and having Saints beach to myself, especially if I can time it with the sun popping over the cliff, and the sparrow hawk chattering away as I walk back to my bike.
And while I love summer, I find it exhausting too, I’m not sociable by nature, yet summer demands a certain sociability with visitors and beach gatherings and I am craving the retreating and solitude that winter brings.
I’ve also been missing teaching and it was a joy to return to class today. Over the break, I’ve been immersing in practice and study with Dr Christopher Wallace, a Tantric scholar and practitioner, as well as Louise, and am really inspired to share this with others.
Change is therefore afoot. But then change is happening all the time too. Each moment we can begin anew. The eclipse did push through significant change though. There is no going back now. Many of you have been called to step up, to believe in yourself and make your dreams come true.
Reiki is on the move. Reiki has its own intelligence, it is the universal life force and it is making itself more universally known and with some force too. Many of you are going into practice and some of you are now thinking about teaching it to others. Reiki will always show us the way if we allow it, and it will absolutely let its know if we are going the wrong way or living in denial, or spiritually bypassing for that matter.
The next full moon takes place while we are retreating on Sark. This too I am excited about, bringing together a retreat, Sark and full moon all at the same time, it doesn’t get much better than that!
I hope the eclipse was helpful and you have greater clarity about the way forward. Soon we will need to take that step, but for now, the dust is settling.
Hope to see you on your mat soon!
Love Emma x
