A workshop exploring your wood element
Are you feeling energetically resourced?
Our Yin reserves act as our inner bank account. Yin energy is our feminine, cooling and resting force which equips us to express fully into Yang, the energy which begins to rise in Spring.
In TCM, Spring is known as the return of hope. This time of year is dominated by the wood element energy, which governs your liver and gallbladder organs.
Wood energy wants to MOVE! Imagine fresh shoots bursting through the icy soil, this is the energetic movement of this season. Practicing Yin is one of the many ways you can support your flow of Qi in the body to avoid stagnancy.
The session
We will begin with the most Yin aspect, resting in the liminal space of Yoga Nidra.
From this stillness we’ll bloom into a 70 minute practice targeting your liver and gallbladder meridian channels, a tonic for your wood element.
We’ll close in a cocoon of Reiki and sound to raise your vibration, supporting your growth on a cellular level.
Prompts for self-inquiry will be weaved throughout with themes connected to your wood element. These include:
☆ Hopes and dreams
☆ Holding a vision for the future (how can we act clearly without this?)
☆ Leadership and accountability
☆ Creativity and flexibility (think of bamboo vs dry bark)
☆ Action and growth
☆ Anger (which is not always negative)
Let’s celebrate the return of light and welcome in new beginnings!
This class is ideal for anyone looking to honour this cycle shift, support their wellbeing on all levels, and be curious about their quality of energy.
What is a Yin practice?
Yin is a slow-paced, inward practice that aims to penetrate and nourish the deep Yin tissues (tendons & ligaments & fascia).
By holding poses on the floor, supported by blocks, bolsters & blankets for around 3-5 minutes, and following each pose with a rebound (lying down) - fluid is released hydrating connective tissues, improving flexibility, freedom & support.
It’s your practice, so if you choose to lie in rebound the entire time then go for it!
This class is completely beginner friendly, nothing is expected of you.
IMPORTANT!
We will have to modify your practice if you are hyper mobile or pregnant (at any stage), so please let Grace know in advance.
