Are you in need of deep rest?
Pacify and calm the mind and soothe the nervous system with breathing exercises followed by a deeply healing Yoga Nidra (Tantric guided deep relaxation/meditation technique).
The breath is our one constant in life, it is also one of our main sources of energy alongside food and sleep, and yet we often pay it very little attention until it is constricted in some way. Deepening our relationship with the breath has infinite benefits to our overall physical, mental, psychological and emotional wellbeing.
Together we will explore various yogic breathing techniques including thoracic breath, abdominal breath, directional breath, villoma breath, Brahmari breath and Sitali breath to experience the benefits of breathing well, and then bathe in a nourishing Yoga Nidra.
As a practice, Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep), is an immensely powerful, transformational and healing guided meditation, inducing complete physical, emotional and mental relaxation. During yoga nidra one appears to be asleep but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness.
In this way Yoga Nidra is adaptogenic, offering a space to explore what you most need in that moment, as well as an opportunity to work on calming the nervous system and gently and subtly releasing long-held emotions, easing physical and mental tension and stress in the process.
Furthermore, anyone can practice Yoga Nidra and it cannot be practised incorrectly. All you need to do is lie down comfortably and warmly (on your back or side), close your eyes and rest.
All are welcome, no previous experience required.
