Yoga Nidra and Reiki

Calm the mind, relax and heal!

Often the greatest challenge, the greatest source of all our suffering, is our very own mind!  Join me to calm the fluctuations of your mind through a combination of yoga nidra (guided deep and profound relaxation) and Reiki.

We’ll join together in circle, where you can rest snuggly, with blankets and cushions as you wish, while I guide you through a nourishing, nurturing, calming and potentially transformative yoga nidra. Those of you who are Reiki attuned will then have the opportunity to channel Reiki to yourself, and perhaps send distance Reiki too, while those of you who are not Reiki attuned, can instead receive the Reiki being channelled within the room. If any of you who are Reiki attuned want to literally practice on others then I’m sure you’ll have grateful recipients!

We will then come together to literally share Reiki around the circle, palm to palm, it doesn’t matter if you are not Reiki attuned, you just receive it. There will be the opportunity for angel cards too.

Thursday 22 October 2020 | 7:30 - 8:15pm

Everyone welcome! You do not need to be Reiki attuned!

Please feel free to share or print this poster to help raise awareness of the event.

What is Yoga nidra?

Yoga nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. The term yoga nidra derives is derived from two Sanskrit words, yoga meaning union or one pointed awareness, and nidra which means sleep. During the practice of yoga nidra, one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. For this reason, yoga nidra is often referred to as psychic sleep or deep relaxation with inner awareness. In this threshold between sleep and wakefulness, contact with your subconscious and unconscious dimensions occurs simultaneously.

In yoga nidra the state of relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from our experiences. if the consciousness can be separated from external awareness and from sleep, it becomes very powerful and can be applied in many ways, for example to develop memory, increase knowledge and creativity or transform one’s nature.

In the raja yoga of Patanjali there is a state called pratyahara where the mind and mental awareness are dissociated from the sensory channels. Yoga nidra is one aspect of pratyahara which leads to higher states of concentration and samadhi [enlightenment and ultimate freedom from suffering!]” Swami Satyananda Saraswati
