Raising our vibration

Everything on this planet is composed of energy and energy vibrates at a certain frequency. Therefore everything living has a vibration to it.  The universe responds to our vibration and it will return whatever vibration we put out – this is called the law of vibration

Think of it this way – our universe is a deep sea of vibrational frequencies, which means that our reality is a vibrational space, which is responsive to changes in vibration. This is why some places feel good to us and some feel bad, and likewise some people feel good and others we can’t wait to escape from – all this because of vibrational resonance.

The more Reiki you receive, for example, the more your vibration will become lighter in frequency. This because Reiki helps to clear stuck energy from your system, which is basically composed of stuck/repressed/unexpressed e-motions (energy which has not been allowed motion), which will inevitably have a thought and behaviour attached to it, and quite likely a movement pattern too. All of this will lay heavily, negatively affecting our vibration.

Thus, as Reiki works its magic in our energy system and helps to clear whatever was stuck/repressed/unexpressed, we begin to feel lighter and our vibration increases in frequency. We feel better. Not only that, but our reality starts to change. As we feel better, life can feel easier. What bothered us previously drops away, all this because of our energy.

And this is the reason so many enjoy receiving Reiki; not least because it makes us feel lighter and clearer as the heaviness of whatever was sticking us drops away, but our life starts changing on the outside to reflect the inner changes. Our vitality increases, we feel better about ourself, more confident, and this too therefore has a positive effect on the energy we put out and what we therefore attract back in.

All of this vibrational changing, does mean that we may no longer resonate with people, places or situations that we once did. While this is a positive thing, it can feel uncomfortable initially, as we realise that certain people, places and situations now drain us (and probably always did) and we find ourself saying no to invites where we once didn’t hesitate in saying yes.

In many ways, working with the law of vibration, is a key component to living our best life and fulfilling more of our potential. This doesn’t mean that life won’t still have its challenges and difficulties, just that we will be more able to take control and create a life that feels more aligned to our heart and soul.

So let’s consider that the universe is responsive to our thoughts, words, feelings and actions because they are all vibrations, then it’s assumed by the Law of Vibration that we can influence our reality. Thus if we positively change the way we think, feel, speak and act (and bring alignment to all of them), then we can begin to change our world and therefore our reality.

Some people have a hard time getting their head around this. We just assume that we are all seeing reality similarly, and we can’t therefore understand why some people don’t react to it the way we do. But the fact is, we all perceive reality differently, depending on our level of consciousness, our trauma and wounding, our psychology, our physiology, our conditioning, our core beliefs, our thinking patterns, our emotional state and the age/time of life, let alone our gender. This is why we can all live in the same family but have a very different experience of it.

We can use vibrational resonance to attract something into our reality.  This is how Sankalpas, resolutions and affirmations work. We begin to feel into the possibility of whatever it is we would like to positively change in our life and this awareness creates an energetic shift in us, which starts to change our vibration and attract in whatever it is we are trying to align towards.

In many ways, the best way of knowing which vibrational frequency we are currently working on is through our emotions. Sometimes we believe that we are in a positive state of mind or taking positive action, but deep down we’re really just pretending. Therefore, if we pay attention to our emotions, we will understand more about our vibration and what we are attracting into our life. For example, if we feel positive and self-loving, then we are more likely to think good thoughts and take positive action and our vibration will be higher – good vibes.

This is the reason spiritual life coaching can be so helpful, as it reveals more of what is lying hidden – it helps us to see through our pretence and get to the truth of whatever is going on for us – what is sitting unresolved, repressed and/or limited within us. Having someone feel into it for us (me!) can help us get beyond our denial too, and help ensure that we are not bypassing (avoiding doing the deeper work by staying in our mind).

Ideally we want to feel as joyful and loving as we can. This is the reason it is so important to follow our joy and take steps to truly love and approve of ourself. In contrast, feelings of hatred, anger, shame, guilt and despair have very low vibration and they will attract more of what we don’t want into our life.

Based on the principle of the law of vibration, for good vibes to come in, good vibes must also go out. Thus the vibrations we put out are always pulling in stuff that’s vibrating at a similar frequency to us. Therefore the feelings we put out to the universe will be returned to us through matching vibrations. So if we send out feelings of joy, then we are more likely to receive things to feel more joyful about.

Many people think that we will only feel good when we have what we want. But really, we can feel joy at any moment, we just have to shift our perspective.

Ultimately, self-love and raising the level of our vibration go together. When we make an effort to raise our vibration, we show ourselves the love which we deserve. We feel good and are more likely to attract goodness into our lives. Furthermore, by loving ourself we will more likely live a life that we love.

So how can we raise our vibration?

As well as engaging in various energy healing techniques such as Reiki and yoga, there are also various lifestyle habits and activities, which can help to transform our emotional state into a more loving and joyful one, which will have the knock on effect of raising our vibration.

Here’s some ideas:

·      Eating high vibration foods like fresh and good quality organic vegetables, fruits, wholegrains, nuts and seeds;

·      Avoiding anything processed in a factory as carries very low vibration;

·      Avoiding microwaved or over cooked foods, especially using refined oils such as rapeseed;

·      Drinking plenty of filtered (non-tap) water. Consider investing in a Berkey;

·      Avoiding alcohol as this creates low vibration;

·      Using chemical and cruelty free products on our body and hair;

·      Getting outside as much as we can and exploring nature on foot;

·      Sitting under a tree;

·      Lying on the earth or sand;

·      Practising yoga or Tai Chi;

·      Sitting quietly, watching the birds;

·      Unplugging from the rest of the world – getting offline – an enormous amount of energy gets wasted online;

·      Turning off WIFI at night as this disturbs our energy field and compromises our quality of sleep;

·      Avoiding the use of chemicals in the home environment, so using chemical and cruelty free, natural (no scent) cleaning products and washing detergents;

·      Clearing out the clutter – clutter holds a lot of dead energy and will lower our vibration. Remember every object has a vibration and may well have an association to someone or a time which has negative connotations for us. All of this will affect our vibration, so have a clear out, give away, tidy up – they say our living space is a reflection of our mind, the less clutter we live in, the less cluttered our mind will be, and the cleaner and clearer our vibration;

·      Growing plants in the garden and connect to them, talk to them, be around them;

·      Wearing crystals can help, those we are drawn to;

·      Wearing clothes which make us feel positive about ourself, remember even clothes affect our vibration, they may bring with them memories of worse times, of jobs we loathed, partners who weren’t kind to us, stages in our life we have now outgrown, even the energy of someone else if we have bought second hand;

·      Reducing time spent on a smart phone and ensuring it is not on carried close to the body (never wearing an EMF emitting device);

·      Doing what we love and doing it with people we love;

·      Physical touch with a loved one;

·      Laughing;

·      Listening to uplifting and atmospheric music – this is great

·      Prioritising a good night’s sleep;

·      Meditating and studying our low-vibration emotions so that we can transform these into higher vibrational emotions;

·      Changing our mindset in a positive way;

·      Spending time around positive people;

·      Avoiding energy vampires and people who drain us of our energy;

·      Establishing good boundaries and saying ‘no’ when something doesn’t feel right;

·      Changing our body language and smiling;

·      Taking time out to relax by doing a Yoga Nidra;

·      Solitude – taking time away from other people;

·      Finding some inspiration – read books/listen to interviews/watch films by/with inspiring people who light us up somehow;

·      Staying away from gossip, drama and judging others – an enormous amount of energy gets wasted engaging in such low vibration pursuits and sadly this is all normalised by low vibration people who don’t know any better;

·      Expressing gratitude – catching ourselves complaining can be very helpful, because then we can shift our thinking into something more positive and appreciate what we have than don’t have. Remember gratitude turns what we have into enough and more;

·      Use ‘thank you’ as a prayer. What am I thankful for today?

·      Counting our blessings and the more our blessings will count;

·      Studying our emotions – ignoring ‘negative’ emotions is like poisoning our system. Learning to understand why we feel the way we do can be very helpful in transforming emotions like sadness, guilt, shame, anger into something more positive – this is not denying emotions but allowing them to move through by understanding them, challenging them and finding another way to feel about a situation. The more we do this, the more we realise we are not our emotions and we have choice about how we feel. This will help to free us from our wounding and patterning around wounding – our Samskaras – and find another way to relate to and experience any situation/event in our life;

·      Being present. Letting go of regret about the past and imaginings of the future as these evoke unhelpful states of mind such as anxiety. Be here now.

·      Meditating on the breath for 10-20 minutes a day will make a huge difference. Remember we are not trying to stop our thinking, but witness it without becoming engaged in it. Either focus on the breath or the repetition of ‘one’.

·      Putting ourself first and if someone calls us selfish, celebrate! Why would we want to be centred in anyone else’s world? It has become normalised to do so, we positively congratulate selfless people without realising how much they give away of themselves. Change the pattern. Let’s put ourself and our energy first – then we are of more value to others in any event.

·      Not caring what others think of us. Their opinions are just opinions, they chop and change. We shouldn’t put our life on hold or live a way that is not true and authentic to us just because of other people’s judgement of us and yet we do. At the end of the day, we all die and our opinions and judgements die with us – why compromise our truth for others small mindedness;

·      Equally don’t judge others for their choices. We are all working on a certain level of consciousness in any one moment and we all have lessons to learn through the choices we make;

·      Avoiding people who criticise everything we do, expect too much, lack respect and shows very little support. Often these people are unwilling to confront their toxic actions and make changes. Spending time around toxic people causes us to lose our inner peace so avoid any person or situation which robs us of our peace;

·      Reviewing our own behaviours and make an effort to change any that are toxic towards ourself or others. This isn’t only how we grow, but as an act of self-love. We are showing ourselves that we deserve better than the behaviours limiting our growth and causing pain to others;

·      Breaking away from toxic partnerships. Remember we can’t change those who aren’t ready to change, but we can change ourselves. We know in our gut when we are in a toxic relationship – we might ask whether we would encourage a loved one such as a child or sibling to continue in the relationship. Don’t be in a relationship for the sake of being in one, we might try and find the courage to put our vibration first and move onto something greater in the future;

·      Simplifying our circle of friends. Keeping those who add value to our life and remove those who don’t. Less is always more.

·      Our family don’t always have our best interests at heart regardless of how much they may love us. Sometimes our choices are outside of their comfort zone and they can criticise. Communicating our concerns can help to shift the relationship, sometimes they don’t realise the way they might be hurting us and they may then change their ways;

·      Communication is key in a positive relationship. Being honest with ourselves ensures our energy flows. Being honest with others makes a huge difference to our vibration. Not being scared to explain how we feel;

·      As Gandhi famously said, “Nobody can hurt me without my permission” – use this to help establish good boundaries;

·      Trying to please others will eventually drain us of our positive vibration. Let go of people pleasing tendencies, find out what lies beneath;

·      Leaving a toxic job, as this will free up enormous amounts of energy. Having the courage to follow your passions and the universe will support. This will help raise our vibration enormously;

·      Accepting and approving of ourselves as we are – loving our self. This will help raise our vibration.

As our vibration increases, we will find that negative people naturally drop away from our life. Furthermore, our life will open up in ways we never imagined possible and our perspective of reality will shift enormously too – suddenly there will be a lot more potential.
